BG mine sweeper is as you would expect an accessible, self voicing version of the game of spacial logic and puzzles which has come with the Windows operating system since 1992. The game is played in a grid of squares representing water, some of which will contain mines. The object of the game is to uncover all the squares on the grid that do not contain mines, since hitting a mine will end the game, and flag the squares where the mines are. Once a square is uncovered, it will contain a number from 1 to 8. This indicates how many mines are in the 8 squares surrounding that square, (less surrounding squares if the square is at the edge of the board). So, if square b2 has a 1 in it, and square c2 has a 1, and the rest of the squares around them are blank it's reasonably safe to assume that square c2 will contain a mine since the 1's on the two previous squares refer to a nearbye mine.Of course, most determinations of where the mines are are far more complicated than this, and a player needs to pay speciall attention to the various numbers and the relationship in the different blocks of squares to avoid explosions, as well as be a little lucky in some circumstances.
the BG version of the game comes with three sizes of grid, a beginner grid of 9 by 9 squares with 10 mines to find, an intermediate 16 by 16 grid with 40 mines, and a massive 22 by 22 grid with 100 mines in the advanced catagory.
The game is also self voicing with microsoft sapi, and contains many helpfull shortcut keys for both moving around the grid and telling you what squares you've flagged or bookmarked, and also quickly telling you the contents in the 8 squares surrounding any given square on the board ( usefull for a fast overview), you can even get a hint if your stuck.
The game also contains handy, high contrast graphics and a maximize option to make it accessible to players with any level of vision.
In addition like all the Spoonbill games, Bg mine sweeper can play Midi music during the game to keep things interesting, and also similarly to other spoonbill titles, it's completely and utterly free.

As the author Jk Rowling said on her own website, Mine sweeper is ideal for a brain resting break, and now that is equally true for blind and visually impared gamers too.
